Please reach us at contact@elevatewealth.co.nz if you cannot find an answer to your question.
As a licensed financial adviser, our role is to act as your expert guide through the financial world. We work with you to understand your unique situation and goals, then we research and recommend financial products that are suitable for your needs. Our advice is holistic, meaning we look at all aspects of your financial picture, from your mortgage to your long-term savings.
A financial adviser can help you navigate a wide range of financial goals, not just buying a home. We work with you to understand what's most important to you and then find the best loan to match. Some of the most common ways we help our clients include:
Our free mortgage assessment is a relaxed, no-obligation chat designed to get to know you and your goals. We’ll discuss what you're trying to achieve - whether you're looking to buy your first home, refinance, or invest - and how we can help you.
We want you to feel completely comfortable, so this is your chance to ask anything that’s on your mind. We truly believe there's no such thing as a silly question, and our goal is to be the most approachable mortgage advisers in New Zealand. By the end of our chat, you'll have a clear understanding of our process and the first steps on your financial roadmap.
We're paid by the lenders whose products you choose to take up. For most of the financial advice we provide, there is no fee for you. This is possible because we receive a commission from the provider when a loan is settled. This is a standard industry practice, and it allows us to offer our advice service to you at no cost.
No, the commission we receive from a lender does not impact the interest rate or terms of your loan. Lenders offer us the same rates and deals they would offer if you went to them directly. In fact, because we bring a large volume of business to a wide range of lenders, we can often negotiate and secure even better interest rates and terms on your behalf.
Banks use financial advisers because it's a cost-effective way to get more customers. Instead of spending a lot on advertising and staffing branches, they pay financial advisers a commission for each loan they complete.
Financial advisers act as a large distribution team for the banks, bringing in new clients - including first-time buyers and busy professionals - that they might not have reached otherwise. We also handle the entire application process for them, which reduces the workload for the bank's own staff.
As independent advisers, we work for you, not the bank. We have access to a wide range of lenders and products, not just one bank's offerings. This allows us to compare options and find the best solution for your unique circumstances. We also manage the entire application process, saving you time and stress.
We have access to a wide network of over 35 lenders, including all of New Zealand's major banks, non-bank lenders, and specialist finance companies. This is a huge benefit for you, because it means we can compare a vast range of products and lending criteria to find a solution that perfectly fits your unique situation. This ensures you're not limited to just one bank's offerings and increases the likelihood of finding the best possible interest rate, terms, and conditions for your loan. A full list of the lenders that we're accredited with can be found in our Disclosure Statement.
The home loan process involves more than just a mortgage. To secure your loan and protect your future, you often need a range of expert advice—from legal requirements and valuations to comprehensive insurance and financial planning.
We believe in providing holistic financial support, which is why we’ve established a trusted network of specialist partners to assist you with every aspect of your journey. While we don't provide this advice directly, we can refer you to a select group of trusted professionals who share our values and are experts in their fields.
Our network includes:
This ensures you receive tailored advice from trusted connections, making your home loan journey as seamless and stress-free as possible.
A holistic wealth roadmap is our comprehensive strategy to ensure your financial decisions are interconnected. When we help you with a mortgage, we don't just see it as a single transaction. We analyse how your home loan fits into your broader financial picture - including your KiwiSaver, investments, and insurance - to help you build a cohesive long-term plan.
Our role is to serve as your primary point of contact, providing you with tailored advice on your lending strategy. When we identify other areas that could benefit from specialist attention, we connect you with trusted experts in our network, such as investment specialists and insurance and legal professionals. This ensures all parts of your financial life work together seamlessly to support your goals.
A clawback is when a lender asks for a commission payment to be returned, usually because a loan was repaid or significantly changed shortly after it was settled. This is a rare event. We do not charge a fee for our advice, but if a clawback occurs, we may charge a fee to recover a portion of the commission that we have to pay back to the lender. This is only ever done by prior agreement with you.
If you have a complaint, please contact us directly so we can resolve it for you as quickly as possible. We aim to provide a resolution within 7 business days. If we're unable to resolve your complaint, you can refer it to an independent service called Financial Services Complaints Limited (FSCL), which is free for you to use.
